Pismo Beach + Year End Stats

I will blame Jameel for his asking about my unprocessed photos for processing this one. After picking my Best photos out of my posted photos here, I have started to go back through last years photos and going folder by folder to find travels I did but didn't process any photos.

Right now I am in January of 2024 and this is from Pismo Beach. I am not sure how long I have to go back over last years photos, but I will try for a while. :)

My stats for last year. I don't normally count them, but @Jameel Hyder got me thinking. So it's his fault I am boring you with these stats. :)

Regular Photography and Video - 20TB of data
2338 Folders
492,089 images

Note: This is from 5 cameras, as I often will have 2 to 4 cameras running at once. Video and Still images are stored on the same Hard drives. the Properties tab on the hard drive, so these numbers are not 100% accurate, but it gives a close idea on my activity from last year.

Deep Space Astro - 3TB of data
223 folders
63,860 images

(Note: I have 2 telescopes. I use a separate Hard Drive to store my Deep Space Astro. Image count gets increased because the Seestar S50 Smart telescope uses 10, 20 or 30 sec exposures. So especially 10 sec exposures can add up quickly. But on the other hand my regular telescope I am often taking 3 minute or 5 minute exposures, which there will be less of during a night. So maybe it balances out. :) )

Okay, back to the image.... :)

There was minimal clouds at sunset, but I still liked it. right after the sun did set, some clouds began to form, so I captured that as well and will process that later.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

I like the sunset and the shutter speed choice for the wave action. Maybe minimal colors but the combination works quite well here.

Beauty image Jim. Like the exposure for blurring the water.

Based on your statistics I can see that photography is definitely an all consuming pasttime for you. Whew!! I admire your organizational skills and energy.

Thanks Alan! I like the way the water sweeps in.

For a point of reference, that cliff edge on the right side. Just on the other side of it is the Sea Cave I imaged from.

I appreciate that Alan. I don't get as much time at the beach as I used to, so I do really enjoy it when I do.

As to the other, I guess there is a reason that one of my nicknames in years past was "Energizer Bunny"... I am slowing down a bit now, wanting to make sure I can get another 20 years or more out of my knees. 🤣

Nice work on capturing the wave action. The light on the horizon is a nice contrast to foreground.

And those stats - impressive.

Nice image Jim. Even more impressive would be to see your greatest hits drawn from maybe 1000 frames.
