Passing Through

Wagons crossed here once, then wagon trains, and now a stream of steel. For over a century the travelers have changed, generation after generation, while the mesas and cloud shadows in the distance remain as they were.
People keep moving. The land stays.
It takes a few years to understand that we are all just passing through.

I have made many trips on I-70 but always eastbound, and this time I got a different view from westbound journey, what an eye opener.

Comments & critiques are welcome.

I can't say that I am sad to journey through this landscape at freeway speeds instead of plodding along with a wagon. Interesting terrain but it doesn't hold my interest for long periods of time. This view does a nice job of summing up the experience in a frame.

I love that area. I am glad you have finally traveled it West Bound, especially since the view points are different based on whether you are going East or West. Most of the View Points could be small State Parks they are so interesting. In fact I did a YouTube Video series called Hidden Gems, where I have captured each of the view points.

I can say I have probably traveled a 100 times on the I-70 in both directions, and for me, it never gets old. So I am glad you got this angle showing how the freeway just runs on and on.
