My last prize of the afternoon at Clark County Wetlands - an Osprey flying almost directly overhead.
Thanks - at first I thought it was a couple of hawks I was shooting (got a LOT of crap photos since I didn't have my tripod with me). Got super lucky when this one headed my direction. It still could have been better had I thought to check and then adjust my settings, too! That is so cool Teresa! I like the wings with the slight movement blur. But I am not a Birding purist, so it will be great to get the take from Ben and some of the others who do shoot Birds a lot.
No, it sure isn't! I thought about adding Las Vegas to my original comment, but didn't lol.Nice shot - capturing birds in flight is not an easy undertaking.
When I first read your post I was about to ask when you were up here in Clark County Washington at our wetlands and then remembered that Las Vegas is also in a Clark County.![]()
To be honest I don't normally associate Clark County, NV with wetlands besides all the places surrounded by concrete with water that gets moved by pumps. No, it sure isn't! I thought about adding Las Vegas to my original comment, but didn't lol.
Yeah, realized my settings were off after I got home - shot at 500This is a great Osprey shot. BIF are tough and you got the exposure and focus right and have a good angle for the bird with the eye in front and the beak silhouetted by the sky. Good underwing detail too, often shots from below end up with dark undersides. The one nit is it looks like your shutter speed was too slow to freeze the wingtips. I usually try for 1/1000 minimum for BIF.
Thanks! Tamron 150-600mm f5.6This is great! What lens did you use?
