That is so cool Teresa! I like the wings with the slight movement blur. But I am not a Birding purist, so it will be great to get the take from Ben and some of the others who do shoot Birds a lot.

Nice shot - capturing birds in flight is not an easy undertaking.

When I first read your post I was about to ask when you were up here in Clark County Washington at our wetlands and then remembered that Las Vegas is also in a Clark County.

Thanks - at first I thought it was a couple of hawks I was shooting (got a LOT of crap photos since I didn't have my tripod with me). Got super lucky when this one headed my direction. It still could have been better had I thought to check and then adjust my settings, too!

No, it sure isn't! I thought about adding Las Vegas to my original comment, but didn't lol.

This is a great Osprey shot. BIF are tough and you got the exposure and focus right and have a good angle for the bird with the eye in front and the beak silhouetted by the sky. Good underwing detail too, often shots from below end up with dark undersides. The one nit is it looks like your shutter speed was too slow to freeze the wingtips. I usually try for 1/1000 minimum for BIF.

Yeah, realized my settings were off after I got home - shot at 500 :(
