Oregon's Redwoods

In spite of being only 30 miles north of the Jedediah Smith Redwood grove near Crescent City the redwoods along the Chetco River near Brookings are notably small compared to the stands of giants in northern California. They still have the distinctive look of redwoods nonetheless. The Redwoods Nature Trail is one of two small parks in the area with stands of these trees and this one is the northernmost of the two.

This is a shot from earlier this week along the trail.

C&C always welcome.

I like this Trail too Alan. There is something peaceful about a forest trail.

Those Redwoods sure do look smaller. I don’t think I have been to this grove before.

Thanks.

Its about 8 miles up the west bank of the Chetco River from US101 so not a grove you will see unless you seek it out. The same is true for the other grove in Oregon on the other side of the Chetco.

Should imagine you could hear your own thoughts there. Beautiful Alan.
