Ohio Pass - autumn 2021

Here are some I just developed of Ohio Pass - 10,000' elev. between Crested Butte and Gunnison, Colorado. The road getting down to the "traditional" overlook is a narrow dirt road and was a challenge in our 4 ton van, especially if we meet someone coming the other way. On this, our 2nd visit, we actually parked at the top of the pass to avoid driving this section again. I flew my drone down the pass about a half mile and was able to get some great shots.

Wow Craig - you caught some really nice peak aspen colors with these images. Fantastic views of this pass. I like all of them but the last one in particular has some really nice light.

Hey Craig! Smart thinking with the drone! Which drone do you have? Alan just got one, I got one last year, it looks like more of us are getting drones to extend the reach of our arms to get photos! :)

These all look great. It’s a nice aerial view in these. #1 and 2 are my favorites of the set.

Jim,

This past summer, I started using the DJI Air 2S with the 1" sensor. I had the Air 2 prior to that. It is a nice improvement over the Air 2 in both image quality and noise. I got my Drone license this past year too, as I sell some of these commercially. Camera has fairly good flare resistance. I almost always shoot a 3-5 image exposure bracket to help with dynamic range.

Beautiful! I can't wait to get to Colorado someday. #3 and #4 are my favorites for their composition and perspective. What an inspiring place.
