The water is a bit blown out, does that bother you?

Hey Zeph,

First off I like that bit of spot light in the lower left corner. Even though nothing visually interesting is there, it just looks cool. The thing I wish about the water is that I wish it was shot with a slower shutter speed to give it that silky feel. That is my preference in general.

only a little bit. But like Jim I'd like to see it with a little longer shutter speed to make the water smoother, but not so much it loses all the textures.
beautiful scene regardless.

My only problem with the spot light is that it gives the left side of the image much more visual weight than the right (at least to me). I agree it looks really cool, but it makes me want to see something on the right side to balance it. Maybe dodging some of the foliage over there a little might help.

The water is fine for me. I'd generally try to use a slower shutter speed as well, but this makes it a little more dynamic.

The slopes of Rainier have some great water features - nice place to play. Hard to add much to the comments already posted - the selective light patch on the left really adds a lot of interest to the scene. I am yet another fan of slowing down the shutter speed for water features like this one but this works for me. Not sure this looks all that blown out to me at all.

I like this a lot, but agree on shutter speed, I like to use between 1/5 and 1/10 second.

Yes, a little out of balance, maybe I'll dodge the the logs in the eddy, thanks for the opinion...

I like the image. On the left of the image, is that natural light, or did you dodge a bit? Blown out water...for the most part, it's supposed to be frothy white.
