The gulls at the pier all have different styles of fishing. these take a short flight up around 3' and drop beak first into the water. I have also seen them pluck fish off the top of the water while swimming in place against the current. The bay was quite active this morning with; Harbor Seal pods (as many as 50 in a single pod), more cormorants than I could count, some common Mergansers, ducks, loons and assorted other birds including Harlequen ducks, Black oystercatchers, and scoters doing fly by's. A great day to be out!
