Neist Point lighthouse

This is another much photographed location. The usual thing is to arrive during the golden hour and stand on the cliffs and photograph the lighthouse and the cliffs bathed in the warm sunset light. On this occasion the light collapsed as the sun sank into heavy clouds on the horizon just after this image was taken.

However I arrived much earlier and explored the "back" of the lighthouse. I was only 4feet above the North Atlantic on a rising tide and finally left after I got covered in spray, I had packed my camera away so it was only me that got wet. There was an offshore breeze and the sea was calm, otherwise I would not be stupid enough to climb down the cliffs to the water's edge.

These are sure sweet images, even if you missed the light you weer after.

The first is dramatic because of those great cliffs.

The second I like for the water action and composition.

The third is nice because of what appears to be a waterfall, but might just be an aggressive wave.

The light in #1 is magical the way that it just reflects off of those cool shaped cliffs.

I like both of the next 2, they both present some really interesting wave action in the water with the lighthouse making a great background point of interest.

I am glad it was just you that got wet!

I like the light you had in that first image - a very striking scene and I can see why it's a popular subject. I don't think I have ever sen an image of the backside of this lighthouse. Very interesting architecture. I am drawn to the water textures and colors in the third image. Nice work with the shutter speed choices.

Fantastic set! The first even without the magic light you mention, is really wonderful. And the next 2 are really fun, seeing this iconic location from a different vantage point!

It's an exceptional place. Been there a number of times (I'll have to look for some of those images).
The last two are excellent and from a viewpoint I haven't seen before.

Oh wow! Just seeing this old post for the first time (thanks to the Featured Images feature). What an incredibly beautiful light gracing these cliffs. I love all 3! Perfect compositions and water/sky handling.

Aside, this response just made me laugh... :D
