Near Palouse

I will be in the Palouse in June and am not familiar with the surrounding area. I will be driving/camping my way up from home (near Sacramento and Lake Tahoe) and am looking for suggestions on places to shoot on my travels. Thinking either back towards Washington State (maybe, with the stuff going on there) or over the Idaho way (same caveat). Of course all of this is pending that the workshop is not cancelled!

You can camp at Palouse Falls which to my taste is the best place in the Palouse for photography. If you like birds photography, the Columbia Basin NWR near Othello is great.

My daughter was studying at WSU (Pullman) and so I ended up spending a lot of time there. Have driven over 1000 miles chasing barns and lonely trees. Awesome area. That's a really nice guide for the Palouse area. I have wandered around in that area a few times but in a 25' motorhome so I had a lot of trouble trying to find places where I could safely pull off the road to shoot. I need to go back sometime with my truck instead.
