My Very Best Lightning Timelapse

This is another set of files from the spring of 2020 I found the other day.

This could easily be the best thunderstorm I have captured, and I have captured a ton of them over the last 3 or 4 years now that I am spending more time in Colorado. But of course, then I think about that epic thunderstorm I captured outside of Capitol Reef a while back. That one might have been my most epic thunderstorm, but this one is my very best. And plus with this one I and the camera's did not get wet. :)

I counted 22 lightning strikes in this short period of time. If you count them, 1 is very faint towards the beginning. But please, count them too, to see if I am right or wrong. :)

Another cool thing is that there were several twin lightning strikes, I found those super cool to look at.

I counted 23, but I counted separate strikes that occured at the same time. It's amazing. You do a lot of different types of photography, from T
L, Lightning, astro, drone, weddings, landscape just to name a few.

Thanks Ben! Let's see what others count, you could be right with the 23.

Yeah, I have always been one of those weird people where I see the world best through a camera it seems, so I truly enjoy the creativity of capturing anything and everything. Perhaps that's one reason I have been photographing for over 50 years and never really gotten bored or taken breaks?

Pretty cool! I didn't count the strikes but sat back and enjoyed the show. Definitely a nice one at that.
Thanks Alan!

I need to put away my spring 2020 hard drive or I won't get any of my current photos processed. I stumbled across a bonanza in 2020.

Jim, fabulous lightening, I played back at 0.75x speed, the moving speed of the clouds seems better.

Oh sweet Oliver! I am glad you liked it!

I played with the speed and slowed it down a bit as I wanted the lightning to flash a bit longer but the clouds started to seem to jerky. Maybe I will try again.

Wow great Timelapse Jim! You should combine all the lightening strikes into one single exposure if you’re able. Don’t know how to do it myself but I’ve seen others do it!
