Those fingers of material washing off the butte look like tentacles. Very nice rendition of the Butte.

Hi Jim.. My first thought when I looked at the image was : This must be a 3D rendering from some software program. The rocky ridges coming off the Butte look so perfect they must be artificial. So much for my knowledge and experience with that geography. It is an exceptional image. I'm buried in another 8 inches of snow that came with high winds and made some lovely drifts. Quite the contrast to your shot. As we say here...Stay warm.

Jim, nice oil painting effect. There must be a trail to get up , I have tried a few times but not able to get too high, love the color & texture on the ground.

Being as I am back in California now, I am having to run the AC because 60 degrees is too hot for me....
Thanks so much Oliver. I have to confess the look is a bit of an accident, not sure I could even preproduce it. I was using Photoshop Express on it while I was getting my oil changed. So I must have hit on something that gave it that look. It think it's kind of cool, though I wouldn't want it to look this way with every photo.
Thanks Monika. Yeah, that whole area is so otherworldly.
The sky seems okay to me, but I will probably reprocess this one on my main computer so I will check that out.

Thanks Mike. I really enjoy flying it and creating the video footage. When I stop the video and turn on the Photo mode on the drone, I have more then once forgotten where exactly it was I wanted to fly back to and capture in a photo. But this is one I purposely went out for.
