My Hike

Yesterday I went to a local state wildlife area in hopes of catching some eagles. There weren't too many eagles hanging around, but I think I had a good day. I walked just over 10 miles, so today will hurt. Look closely at that Kestrel in the tree. Lunch time.

Yep. Normally there are 40+ eagles hanging around this lake. But since it's completely frozen over, they seem be elsewhere. I think I only saw 6 yesterday. But always neat to watch. And thank you.

You got some really awesome shots! I like them all. That's too bad about the lack of Bald Eagles. I didn't get to Barr Lake last year but I did the year before and I seem to recall there not being many Bald Eagles at that time, but I don't go there enough to know their pattern.

I'm hoping some warmer weather will open up some water. Since they seem to like to fish, maybe they will come back if so. But I'm certainly no expert. Hopefully I can get out there again.
