Mushroom experiment

Well actually the experiment was in the photography not experiencing the magic effects of the fungus :p.
I found a rotting log on a recent walk and noticed a 2 inch mushroom growing on the side. I moved debris away to get a better look and notices some smaller ones as well.
I tried shooting with flash, without and using focus bracketing.
Here are the results. Comments welcome.

An overview.

The smallest one was about 1/4" in diameter. This is a single shot with a flash.

A fun experiment - and I like your subjects. The first two have some really nice depth with the focus stacking and are nice looking specimens.

Alan loves mushrooms! I knew he would enjoy these. Me.... Mushrooms are just barely better then snakes on the squeamish scale for me, so I don't really care for them, but I will say I am enjoying your photos of them, and I am not getting my normal feelings like I need to spray lysol on my computer monitor after viewing these. :)
