Mountain Fire

A lovely flowering plant I saw along my walk yesterday - known as Pieris Japonica Mountain Fire (Japanese Pieris). Japonica is a very popular landscaping shrub in the Pacific northwest but typically varieties that are more mundane than the Mountain Fire variant with the multicolored leaves as shown here.

Very cool Alan, though I was expecting a red colored plant. So being white I don’t get the fire name aspect.

Thanks Jim - the name refers to the leaves and not the flower. The leaves on this plant can range from yellows to reds and will be mostly red during the summer months.

Nice. I have seen this at the local Arboretum - don't remember seeing elsewhere though. Looks nice the way you composed it.
