Moonlit Sunrise

Works equally well. Nice moonlit scene.
Thanks Jameel

I really like this Alan, I am a big fan of the more even light provided by moonlight.
Thanks Ben - I don't often go out of my way to get moonlight shots at the beach but it can be some interesting light to work with.

Very nice image.
Thanks John.

Yep, great way to entertain yourself Alan! Good work.
Thanks Jim.

Alan, this is a nice & blue mood.

Thanks Oliver - yup - definitely blue hour. This is a 30 second exposure at f/4 ISO100.

Nice image. I think that the horizon is down on the left.
Thanks Ken - the horizon being off was my original thought as well but upon close examination of the original at 100% it turns out there is a low fog layer and clouds that add some confusion to where the water line is under the moonlight. What is a dark blue horizon on the left side of the island is a light color on the right. At the small tip of the island on the right the bright line is the waterline horizon and all of the water on the right of the island show the moon reflections.

I see it now and it may be perfectly level however it still looks tilted

Not going to disagree - those layers near the surface make a confusing visual. I headed for the ruler tool as my first edit when I started to process this and didn't spot the correct horizon until I tried to fix it and discovered it was already correct. :)

Very nice Alan. I liked the mood in this.
Thanks Kyle - I timed my trip based on the moon cycles and in this case the king tides. My target was the extra low low tides at sunrise so this spot is typically 1-2 feet underwater even during a normal low tide. Better yet is having a bigger than usual beach to myself as no one else showed up until at least 45 minutes later.

Drop dead gorgeous. Goodonya for getting up and out there so early. I like the scattered line of rocks leading out to the sea stack, but the glint of moonlight along with the blue hour color takes it over the top. This might be my favorite shot you have posted from the OR coast.

Thanks Jim - this is one of my favorite places along the OR coast because of all the shoreline rocks like this to frame scenes around.
