Mom's Backyard

I'll take any shot that gives me a nice view of the hummers. We have 3 or 4 feeders around our house and the activity is almost constant. Their wing speed is absolutely nuts to try to freeze the motion.

They are quite territorial about "their" feeders and the aerial displays they can put on while trying to assert their domination for a particular feeder is simply astounding. It's hard enough to keep them in my eyesight think less of trying to follow the action with a camera.

I agree....my cabin in the summer, you need to duck, especially when the Rufus come around.
Anna's are the dominant species in the NW and stay here year round but in late spring we get the Rufus for the summer. They are smaller but much more aggressive about the feeders and will chase the Anna's off when they encounter each other.
