May at MaGee Marsh.

May is the time of the warbler migration in Ohio. They fly up from the south and gather at the shore of Lake Erie to store up energy for the trip across the lake. Here are some of my favorite warblers from that trip last year.

Wow - those are some seriously colorful birds. How long does the "gathering" event last before they head along their way north?

Hey Doug, these are so cool. You have great captures of these birds. It's hard to pick favorites, but I will go with #2 and 3.

Love these photos, #3 especially, something about him on a perch under the green canopy of the bush or tree gives it a very intimate feeling.
