Marmot on the Mt Evans Road

A friend and I were on the way to Mt Evans to try to find some mountain goats when we spotted this marmot in the rocks along the road. My friend whistled and the marmot stopped to look at us and then came closer to see what the noise was about. He stayed around a while watching us and then scurried into the rocks and was gone. Here are a couple of the shots I got of this furry critter.

The road for Mt Evans is closed I think for a year or two for repaving?

The Blue Sky (formally known as the Mt Evans road) road is close until 2026 for improvements and repaving.
