Mama Don't Let Your Kids Grow Up to be UGHLY

I was taken aback when I spotted these blooms in the middle of my neighbor's lovely day lilies wondering why they hadn't cut off these dead flowers. Upon closer examination I could see that these weren't dead flowers at all with new blooms starting to come out - looking the same as the open blooms shown here.

Agoseris aurantiaca is also known as orange agoseris, pink false dandelion, or mountain dandelion. Initial reactions aside the blooms are certainly unique and did succeed in getting my attention for a few captures.

Well I like them. The reds and yellows really pop against the greens!
Thanks Michael - they did get enough of my attention to have their portraits taken and it was mostly due to the contrasts. Especially in the middle of a thriving bed of colorful day lilies.
