Hi All

One from our Trip to Nova Scotia years ago, what a wonderful place. We're not used to
seafaring towns or lifestyles ;-) So this was kind of a new awakening for us.

This is from Hall's Harbor and the Bay of Fundy, where the tidal height and drop can be
up to 40 Feet every 12 hrs or so .

Wow - that's an amazing drop of the tides. Looks like they are well adapted to the cycle in this scene. Neat B&W work with this.

It was incredible all along that Coastline where the Bay of Fundy tides affected things. Several places we stayed you could walk out for a Long
Long way without getting your without getting wet.

Geuss, you have to time your departures here. Great image.
LOL Yep, many folks have gotten into trouble walking and not paying attention when the tide starts coming back in.
The amount of water that moves in and out during a day was some unbelievable number
"
Tides in the Bay of Fundy
Twice each day, 160 billion tonnes of seawater flow in and out of the Bay of Fundy — more than the combined flow of the world's freshwater rivers! "

Awesome Craig! Love this one in B&W.

It reminds me of being in the UK. I am used to the Pacific here on the West Coast. And it goes up and down, but the difference is pretty small in relation to these. So I know I wasn't used to how drastic of a drop the water would have. It sounds like it's a lot like the UK up there too as the water seemed really shallow, and the uncovered beach was really pretty level. Here on the west coast of the US, the beach drops off dramatically.

Hi Jim,

I agree about the tides and fishing villages in the UK, Nova Scotia has so much diverse areas, one place we stayed was at a Lighthouse
Station, not in the Actual Lighthouse but there on it's grounds. They had what they called a "Tidal Bore" where two of the tides came together and
the water would just really was almost boiling.

Hi Jim,
It's really funny, I just had a chat with my Wonderful Wife about our Trip to Nova Scotia, and we both had such fond memories of it. We talked
about all the History, but also how nice it was to be able to see and go so many neat places, and none of them were ever crowded. Also, the People
were so friendly, kind, and welcoming. Their pride in their Country shown through all the time, and was so nice to see.
It was a Photographer's Dream with so many Beautiful and Wonderful sites to see and enjoy. The Natural Beauty was just so overwhelming sometimes we just
sat there for a long time drinking it all in. We'd flown into Halifax and rented a Car and drove around the Island for almost 14 nights. Highly recommend it as a
great destination to see and shoot, and just relax as well.

One thing that really made the trip even more special was the Wife had a lot of Family from that area with the Acadians, and actually got to meet up with one
from her Genealogy finds that went back 10 Generations, and kind of neat He was also the President of the Historical Society there in Annapolis Royal. Pretty special to have
someone like him telling us of the History and also led a Candlelight Graveyard Tour ;-)

Here's a map of our travels and where we stayed
