Low Clouds Over the River

A scene from earlier this week looking upstream in the Columbia River Gorge. Lots of rain in the days ahead of this shot leave the river running high although all the dams upstream moderate the extent of the high water. The humidity was pretty much at 100% so lots of low clouds and occasional passing showers. Three stitched portrait orientated panels at 168mm.

Thanks Jim - the Gorge can get some pretty dramatic atmospherics if you time your visit right and the rains give you a break.

Those conditions look oh so familiar. Looks pretty calm. Been a little windy in addition to wet and grey around here.

Thanks Jameel - its was pretty breezy with some scattered showers but this was one of the better days to be up there. The current weather pattern has higher winds coming down the Gorge.
