Looking Forward to Fall

I can't wait for this summer to be gone. So, I was looking through my archives and found this image from Acadia National Park.

This was a foggy, overcast day that helped the saturation of this image. It made the lichen pop and saturated the blueberry colors.

The blueberry colors are fantastic alongside these rocks. Really interesting shapes in these rocks too - what kind of formation is this?

Thanks, Alan. It is the Cadillac Mountain granite and is over 400 million years old.

Beautiful color composition, Doug. I am also looking forward to an autumn full of colors. It's interesting that the colorful, low growth grows happily in such abundance precisely in these old rocks.
