Little Blue Angel

The Mountain Bluebird is not a regular in the Bay Area, its presence caused quite a bit stir amongst birding circles. I got some quick shots this morning. The bird has the beautiful blue feathers, it's very easy to find, I do find it challenging to get the Bird-In-Flight shot because it jumped around, often it took off suddenly.

Enjoy.

Great job Oliver!

Love your title for #3! :)

I know I can have issues with BiF even when they aren't jumping around, but when they do that? Well there is no way I can get them. You did really great with these.

Love the landing pose. Have you thought about autofilling out that post in the lower right? I am just curious if it improves the shot? You have some really good bokeh in the background.

Neat to get to shoot this little bird. Not one we see up this way at all. I love both of the first two and especially the landing in #2. Nice work.

These are beautiful Oliver. I can hardly wait for their return around my area for nesting. It is still very cold here at -26C today. Just a few more weeks and we should be seeing Bluebirds returning.
