Lets play 6-16-2018 -

Alan has graciously supplied this weeks Lets Play candidate. He says he had plenty of other shots, but this one seemes like a good candidate. Show us what you can do with it.

This is very nice Kyle, I see you cropped the rock off the bottom as I did. My usual PP made it look too gritty so I am going to start over and post latter. You got a very natural looking and pleasing image as usual.

Thanks Ben. I actually cloned it out as I didn't want to lose any of the foreground bushes by cropping. The other thing I played with, that I don't think I've done before, is adding some negative dehaze (essentially adding haze) to the background. I decided I wanted the foreground sharp and saturated and the background hazy and soft.

This is a great image that Alan donated for the cause. I won’t be able to give it a go though until Sunday or Monday since I am currently out at Joshua Tree.

Kyles Edit on it looks really cool.

I will be curious to see what people come up with on this one. Kyle's edit is a good starting one. There was nothing wrong with the original beyond the fact that it was one of too many captures I had from the same spot from the week before this one was taken, one of many I took at the same time as this one, and another batch taken two weeks later.

The bridge in the background is called Moon Bridge and as an orientation to this part of the gardens the maple just off to the right here is the same one that attracts a mob scene when it goes full on red.

Here's mine with a little different approach where I reduced the amount of haze. All in all a vanilla change on my part with some slight burning and dodging too.

I went for a crop to bring the bridge closer and the tree in the left top just bugged me LOL. Highlights down, shadows up, a little dehaze, and played with the luminance & saturation sliders mostly plus on saturation & minus on luminance, and a touch of vignette!

I like this corp Drcy, and I assume this is the one you want voted on. Your color saturation is a nice middle ground beteen Jameel and the ones Mike and I posted.
