Coming up to the entrance of Great Sand Dunes National Park...
Sweet B&W. Like a multi-layer cake. Lot's of different shades. Tasty!
This was taken with a tilt shift lens, that's why you're seeing softness at the bottom and top. Thanks for your suggestion regarding tonality, but this was a very dark moody image to start with and with keeping with the dark high contrast I feel I have lightened things up too much all ready. What a neat place to explore! This is quite a dramatic, busy image what with all the thick, dark clouds and different mountain shapes and layers. It seems a little dark overall; I'm wondering what it would look like with a tad more exposure but without blowing out the clouds. It also looks a little soft on the focus but that might just be image compression.
lol....that would be a nice addition, but unfortunately no luck with that.Really nice, Amy! For some reason, I keep imagining an lighting bolt in the right 1/3.....
That would be a great idea....remember layers with warmth too! That's some great layering you have there! I like the B&W look here.
I thought about that as an area where I could go to shoot some Deep Space Astro this winter, until I remembered just how cold that area gets.
Thanks so much Joe!you have a fantastic talent of getting just the right look for B&W! the textures and contrast not to mention the composition are spot on!!!
Thanksgorgeous!
