Lawn Ornaments

On my trip to Scotland I spent some time poking around the lawn at the VRBO where we stayed just out of Portree on the Isle of Skye.
This collection of bubbles repeated on a number of plants in the lawn. iNaturalists suggests it is from a Meadow Spittlebug but I have no confirmation.

A number of flies were busy doing their thing.

Delightful macro work. I find it amazing you are getting so close to the flies that you can use a macro lens for the capture. I like the close in view of the flower in the last image.

Thanks Alan.. I would say only about 1 in 50 flies is sufficiently calm to get close enough. It also helps to go our early morning when the temp is a bit cooler and they are a bit sluggish.

As to lawn ornaments, I prefer these over plastic flamingos. :)

I like these a lot. You sure found a lot of subjects to keep yourself busy. My favorites are #1, 4 and 5.
