Hi Jim,Very cool work here Todd. All 3 of these are fantastic. The chain link works for me, I thought it helped to separate Landon from the background and gives the feel that he is our playing basketball in an outdoor court. What I really like with #2 is the lighting and how softly he is lit up compared to the background. Did you use a reflector or a flash in those first two to light him up?
Thank you...Fantastic senior portraits!
Thanks BenWell done. Not crazy about the chain link fence in 2, but the rest are nice especially 3.
Thanks Jim! Yeah portraits for me are easy to manual focus, now I CAN’T shoot much wildlife or birds in flight manually, I’d crash and burn on that aspect. Thanks for the added info Todd.
I like your additional shot also, a great senior type pose, and the soft light is really nice.
One thing I forgot to comment on in my first reply, is I can't believe you are manual focusing! Wow! I can manual focus a landscape if needed, though usually I AF to my hyperfocal distance and then recompose the scene. But to do portraits in manual focus? My hats off to you. It appears you are used to manually focusing, but for myself, I just can't imagine doing that. So great job on that aspect.
