For a brief moment the sun poked out in between the showers and this was the view out of one of my office windows:

This Japanese maple had enough heat scald damage from this summer I didn't think we were going to get a color show out of it this year but the reds are more intense than usual. Especially right after a few days of rains.

Pretty intense colors that's for sure. Most likely specular highlights but maybe a polarizer might have given you a little more saturation?

Thanks - There are many things that could have helped but this was a handheld shot through a double pane window with an iPhone. I did run outside and took some more with my DSLR but this one had the best sun angle.
