Just in Time for More Rains

Hellebore are pretty much in full bloom all around our yard now. They start their blooms much earlier than most plants in our yard. They can be frustrating to shoot as the flowers are typically pointing down at the ground and the plants are only about knee high getting down on the ground isn't a particularly enticing proposition with the ground being quite muddy this time of year.

Thanks Jim - to hear the weatherdroids describe it we are in a drought up here right now. I only measured just over 7" in February so the ground looks rather parched of course (squish squish). It had just stopped raining when I took this shot but these blooms are right under a 65' cedar so they aren't dripping wet like everything else.
