This is the area around the Jellyfish Nebula, IC443. It's a really cool area. I always thought the Jellyfish itself looks cool, but with capturing this with the Antlita ALP-T filter, there is a ton of more detail that I didn't really realize before.

This was captured in Bortle 9 skies with an 86% moon on Monday. Not the most ideal conditions, but that Antlia ALP-T really pulls out some great detail.

36 - Lights at 600 secs with the Antlia ALP-T 5nm filter
30 - Flats
30 - Dark/Flats
30 - Darks

Aren't these just about the worst skies possible for light pollution? Pretty good result under the circumstances.

Thanks Alan. Yeah, the light pollution down in SoCal is really bad. The sky never gets dark at night, it just kind of dims. I have to change some of the settings on my astro gear because there are so few stars to be seen without lengthening a lot of my settings.

I actually think this might be one of my best astro images yet. Definitely in the top 5.

Jim,

Impressive under those skies, to get anything like this. Nice colors, with just a hint of the OIII shock fronts along the head of the Jellyfish starting to come out!

Hey Jim,

Nice result for Bortle 8/9 skies. It's crisp without being oversharpened, colors are good, saturation is dialed in nicely, background is set about right... not much constructive criticsism to offer on this one. Unfortunately, I looked at @Comet Hunter's image before yours and, well, that's a tough act to follow! Guess you'll have to redo this one under Bortle 2 skies to get the details he captured.

Thanks Mike. It is crazy to think I can get anything, when the Light Pollution is so bad that when I look up, I don't see any stars, just a grey sky.

I appreciate that Bill. I think this Antlia ALP-T filter is really doing a great job.

And yeah, Ed really nailed it. He has been putting out such impressive work.
