I was a computer nerd by trade, happily debugging code and arguing with printers.
Then, on my second coast-to-coast road trip, I found myself in the Texas Panhandle, middle of nowhere, zero cell service, under a brilliant blanket of stars. Somewhere between "Wow, that's beautiful" and "I should probably buy a bigger tripod," photography stopped being a hobby and became an obsession.
So I went full-time into photography.
Then something even stranger happened: people started asking me how I took my photos. Before I knew it, I was teaching photography too. Apparently, explaining shutter speed is easier than explaining why I own more camera bags than common sense would allow.
And after chasing a total solar eclipse, I realized life is far too short not to chase the things that make your heart race a little faster.
So here I am: recovering computer nerd, full-time teacher & photographer, and enthusiastic collector of dark skies, road trips, and unforgettable moments.
