Flowered meadow, nice mountain peaks behind and some delightful skies to top it off - nice combination.
Thanks you guys, I am glad you both like this one. It's certainly a great place to shoot. The only downside is that this is about a mile hike from where we camped, which is almost straight downhill. It's a pretty steep hike to be doing in the dark to get up there before first light. There were people hiking up in this basin but closer to the lake. In fact in my last photo you will see a tent in the shot. But, what I didn't like about up here is there is no cover from storms or lightning, and plus the tents have a chance to be in someone's shots. Down in the lower basin we were camped out in a cool spot under some large trees that helped to deflect the rain and provide us better shelter.

I'd like to see the fg toned down a wee bit. To my eyes, it feels a touch bright relative to the bg sky and mountains.
Still, a lovely inviting scene, Jim.

Really sweet shot Jim, although I agree with Barry on the brightness of the fg. I was one of those not so bright people as I camped in the upper basin for a couple of nights when I last stayed there. Fortunately, we got a lot of rain but no lightning during our stay.

Hey Guy, thanks so much! Yeah, I will have to look at pulling down the brightness a bit more.

As for camping up at that Basin, I think Alisa and I had decided we might just set up in that area too next year. Where we had set up camp lower down was like the perfect camping spot, but man that hike each morning was a drag!

Thanks Barry, I am glad you like it.

So I guess what you are saying is I need to punch up the sky and background some more to match the foreground?

This is a magical scene, with the green, beflowered foreground and the lovely mountains and sky. The more I look at it, actually, the more the luminescence comes together as a satisfying whole.
