Good shots - I am always amazed at the acrobatics that squirrels can display. The one's around my house are too fat to match the leaps you are describing for this specimen.

they're actually easy to tell apart. Chipmunks have pointy noses and white facial stripes. where as ground squirrels have a round nose without white stripes
