This is the kind of image that keeps me thinking I have put off converting one of my old camera bodies to IR for too long. I love the contrasts of this tree against the sky with this processing.
Stop putting it off!!! IR is a wonderful thing to experiment with. If you want a taste without a conversion you can always purchase a cheap IR cutoff filter. You'll just have to jump through a few hurdles as compared to a sensor conversion. The good news is that a filter is cheap and non-destructive.
Being able to shoot midday and get the best results is very cool!
This image has a ton of impact, well done.
Thanks Ben! I've got you commenting on/creating mono shots - maybe I can get you trying out IR next.

Remember, there is also false color!!
This is IR at its finest! Excellent deep dark skies contrasting with the lighter trees.
Thank you, Jim! I am a sucker for contrast, and you don't get much more than what is given at the 830nm cutoff. The images are mono SOOC and hardly need any pushing to 0/255.
Great image...Love the perspective!
Thanks, Amy! Now just picture the SUV packed with 3 young kids, my sis and my wife all hollering for me to 'hurry up!'.
One of the better IR shots i've seen. love it
Thanks so much, Sunny!! As the father of toddler IR is almost a must - not so easy to hit the golden hours with a young one running amok.
