Glen Bruar

Glen Bruar is a small glen in Highland Scotland. It is particularly easy to photograph because it has good paths through it and beautiful stone bridges. Glen Bruar is owned by the Atholl Estates but this is Scotland and land may be owned by very rich individuals or companies but people have the right to roam wherever they wish. There are rules about not harming the environment and keeping clear of hunting areas but for all practical purposes people can walk wherever they wish. Many estates actually help and maintain excellent path networks as here in Glen Bruar, no cost, no restrictions, the bridge has no purpose other than allowing visitors easier access. I will post waterfall images from here next Wednesday. Ken

I had hoped for some good Autumn colour but most of the leaves had dropped

I tried to photograph this tree without the sky intruding but could not find an angle.

This is a beautiful venue I have never heard about before. Still a fair amount of color even if not the peak. I love the old bridge and the waterfall but the slick tree in the last image is the one that really captures my attention. You did well with the angle you chose to shoot from to keep the trees in the background behind the center of the subject tree. The sky that does show is not intrusive. I love forest scenes like that one.

Wow Ken! These are so beautiful, and #3.... wow! That needs to go into a contest!

I like Scotlands rules about the land. That's really awesome. So different from here.
