Glacier Lagoon

It really is a wonderful place to shoot and it looks like you took good advantage of the conditions you were given. I love the moodiness and blue ice in the first (although I'd be tempted to crop a touch off the bottom). I think the second is my favorite though. Nice texture in the beach contrasting with the smooth curve of the ice.

Incredible place and some really nice shots to temp the rest of us to go there. I like the glacier lagoon even without dramatic lighting. It has enough drama all by itself.

The isolated ice chunks on the dark sands are another world entirely. I have never had a subject like that to shoot. I like the first one for it's more minimalistic approach but the complexity of the light in the last one keep my eyes wandering around the subject enjoying the details.

Hey Michael,

That is a cool looking lagoon! I do like your first one, that isolated blue ice pieces are cool. And I agree #2 really looks sweet.

Visited Jökulsárlón myself under very similar conditions, and I don't think I came away with images as nice as your set. Very challenging when you are pre-visualizing very different conditions, but you certainly managed to do some nice work. Closeups are well done, but the first image showing the very blue ice flow is a great capture.
