Get a Shovel

From the Grand Teton National Park over at Mormon Barn Row. There had been a bunch of snow. While the road down towards them was plowed for about a mile, you had to walk on the snow to get to the barns and it was about 3 to 4 feet thick.

This one has a Custom WB, but no Channel Swap as I am still really into the IR Blues. :)

That looks rather deep. I would be more inclined to fire up the snowblower. The blue is interesting in this context as it makes the scene feel colder.

That's true, I guess staying with the 590nm hues works good in that way as it was really cold out.

Jim when I was there in June a few years back, Antelope Road was plowed but Mormon Row was not and just wading through 18 inches of snow to get to this spot was tough. Nice job here.

Nice image, Jim. But I don't think the post holing to get there would be any fun.
I appreciate that Doug. It was packed pretty solid as long as you stayed on the main track where the snowshoers had packed it a bit more solid. But... if you stepped off of it which I did once because I wanted to move in and to the side just a few feet? Your foot would immediately plunge down and you would have snow up to your hip.

Maybe with it being later in the season now, the snow had just accumulated and then packed itself too where people walked. Though there had been some fresh snow, so there was a snow plow that morning cleaning up the main road out to the barn area, and where it had plowed it had cut off the steps people would have already cut into the snow bank to get up the 3 or 4 feet. So that was a bit of a challenge with all of my gear I was carrying to get up and over that to get on top of the snow.

Thank you Ben! As I mentioned to Doug, I was fortunate that the main area was packed down so it was easy to walk on once you got up the 3 to 4 foot back and you stayed on the trail. I did have my snowshoes in my jeep, so I could have put them on had there been an issue.

This is a cool shot....but burrrr! This is the kind of image you post when it's July and 90+ degrees out. Just looking at it makes the temp drop 10 to 20 degrees 🥶
