Full Moon - 2021/03/27

Well, actually a 99.6% full moon, but I thought it was close enough.

I had gone out for sunset with my oldest granddaughter and while we were getting cool photos, we both kept an eye on the moon, and I shot it a few times with the landscapes. But.... I was looking forward to getting back to my daughters so that I could get out the Tamron 15-600mm with the 1.4 extender to capture the moon and then also try the new Super Resolution Enhancement in ACR.

So.... here it is. I think it looked and did a pretty decent job.

This is a single shot, I shot video of it but don't have time to process that yet.

Feels a bit on the dark side at least on my monitor but very nice detail.

Great detail, I agree with Alan that it's a bit dark.

I like it, I think in order to bring out detail in a full moon (generally the worst phase to shoot if you want to capture detail) making things a little dark is one way to go.

Yeah, I definitely played with brightening it more, but you stated the issue with brightening. It then loses detail.

Now perhaps, there is a better medium between detail and brightness that I will discover one of these days. My work with the moon captures is a work in progress. I personally really liked the level of detail I was able to obtain with the full moon.

Nice one Jim. I shot one sunday night which I'll post shortly. I think the boosting the shadows inside the moon where is more grey than black will make it feel less dark.
