Frozen in Time

I took the 2 youngest boys to a local park that has a couple of ponds and a playground. I let the kids play on the playground for a while, and then we all went walking around the pond. I was hoping for some geese or ducks, but all there was one geese. So I spotted a lot of leaves in the ice around the edges of the pond, and went hunting leaves instead.

I need a moment to get over my shock - you went out looking for small scenes and found one! Amused reaction aside this is a pretty neat find with the fall colors preserved beneath the ice. I like the variety in the bubbles encased in the ice along with the leaf.

Ha ha.... I know.... this 50-400mm Tamron is making me look where I haven't looked before.

the trapped air bubbles give this a really nice texture that adds a lot to the leaf.
