Nice - looks neat with the shades of green in the background. That is a distinctly harsh environment for those horses.
I have to confess that I lived in Salt Lake City for almost 25 years and only went out to that area a couple of times.
OK..so.. Alan, let me introduce you to Ben; Ben this is Alan. Now that you guys know each other.... I suggest you discuss a joint trip to the Rush Valley - Dugway area to shoot images of the Onaqui Wild Horses. A four wheel drive vehicle is required. Some time on google would be a good idea to read about the herd and the places they like to frequent. Long glass helps, but the main herd was very tolerant of the workshop photographers in my group. Still, BLM rules are - do not get closer than 100 feet.Well look at this. I have passed Rush Valley a number of times and did not know there were wild horses there. Nice imaging.
Ha ha, I am reading this Tex, and what I see is potential and opportunity! The opportunity to develop potential Events!!! You can become the new Events Master!OK..so.. Leave it up to a guy from Southern California to fly into Utah, shoot images of the Onaqui herd; and encourage you two to join in the fun! Isn't FocalWorld awesome! (Jim Fox, are you reading this?)![]()
OK, so that does put a small wrinkle in my grand plan! But you could still overcome that! After all, you are a Utah alumni .One minor detail - I moved out of Utah to the Pacific NW 21 years ago![]()
Correct - I am an alumni of both Utah State in Logan (BS) and the University of Utah (MA). I do make trips to Utah although I typically head for Colorado Plateau area. The Basin and Range part of Utah doesn't inspire me much for photography. I have met Ben and we shot together in the Tetons last fall.OK, so that does put a small wrinkle in my grand plan!
