Friday's Focus - 2019/07/12 - Sun in the Landscape

Our Focus this week might be a little harder to find. It's going to Focus on those Landscape Photos where the Sun is actually in the Photo.

Usually we avoid shooting directly into the sun unless we are going for sun stars. Now sun stars are okay for our Focus today, but I am sure there are other times where the Sun was included in the composition and it wasn't producing sun stars.

I had to actually dig for a bit before I could find any of mine.

* Add your Sun in the Landscape photos to this Thread.

PS. I will start with a few.

#2 - Little Corona

#3 - Partial Eclipse in 2012, shot through my welding helmet. This is why I skipped the most recent eclipse because I was underwhelmed by how this partial eclipse looked. Boy, was I wrong.

Hey Avi, this is a very cool shot! I liked the one you posted in your intro thread, but what's cool with this one besides the sun is having the woman in it. She really helps to give both scale and a sense of understanding as to how deep the water is. Are there tides there? does the water recede to where the umbrella is able to be used for shade and laid underneath?

Love that pano, Jim. Hope you have it printed big somewhere!

Many thanks Jim, there are no tides, the water does not recede, since the water has very high content of salt, your body floats effortlessly, so people are floating under the umbrella...

I am not a lover of sun stars or flare and try to avoid them or clone them out if I can't. I realise that I am probably in a minority of one. No cloning in this image just being in place long before sunrise and taking the shot before then sun had burned through the morning mist and sent the dynamic range into the unmanageable The second image from Yorkshire and this time a sunset with the sun sinking into the murk.
