Florist's Daisy

Florist's Daisy is one of the ascribed names for the blooms of Chrysanthemum x morifolium or garden mum. The plant has been cultivated since 500 BCE in China where it was originally used for medicines prior to being bred for its beautiful blooms. There are over 30,000 cultivars of this plant. This specimen was in a pot on a rack near the entrance of a grocery store I visited yesterday.

You do see these in florist shops, so I guess the name fits. It's a pretty looking flower, and I like how you captured it Alan.

Thanks Jim - I was amazed at how long this plant has been cultivated but the early use for medicines separates it from most ornamentals.
