These next ones are from the dedication at the National memorial in Shanksville, PA, the crashsite
Because I was the photog for the local one, I was given an invite.
I wanted to go as press, since sitting with family members would limit much photography.
I managed to get credentialed through a local paper.
1. This is the public walkway and separates the visitors from the crashsite to the left
2. The crowd was estimated at 3-4 thousand
3. This is my favorite as I caught a spontaneous prayer circle of airline stewardess/stewards.
This was at the wall of marble memorial stones with each named hero
4. Most stage shots aren't considered interesting, especially at the podium. But this one, Sara Mclachan singing "I will remember you", seemed to fit the emotion of the day
This last one, "Lighting of the Luminaries", had a candle for each of the 3000+ that died on 9/11.
