FL surfers

[Joe Colozzo]

this was my first time shooting surfers. There are a few lessons learned such as shutter speed and exposure for this. The waves were small so the rides were few, but I couldn't resist a few snaps at them. I will try it again when I have an oppertunity. All C&C welcomed

Nice work Joe. I know I like to shoot the surfers once in a while here in SoCal. Usually shooting faster to be able to freeze the movement and action is the way to go, but I do also slow down my shutter speed at times to get some motion blur which can look cool. Or simply panning with them as you shoot slower in the 1/20th a sec range or so.

I tried this once near Westport along the Washington coast and ended up going for the fastest speed I could muster since my panning skills were less than optimal for obtaining pleasing motion blur.
