Fire Fall

Well sort of..
Yosemite Park has been promoting this display.
Meadows are off-limits, parking is restricted and the park was packed with famiies yearning to see this wonder.
People were looking at Yosemite Falls, asking if that was it.
As you all know, it's about the "light" and often you get skunked
This was the 1st night forecast. While not the accentuated water flow desired, it was kinda niece at sunset.

Looking pretty good Dan. Glad you got there. I am trying to see if I can run up there as it's been a few years.

At this point, the angle of the sun hits the water and the side of El Cap, getting closer to the 24th, the angle changes to where it's not hitting the cliff any more and is only hitting the water as it falls.

Jim, watch out for the weather. There's a storm coming beginning next Monday, it's very wide ranging.

Yeah, the prospect actually looks horrible. Too many clouds, and I head out on the 21st to go back to Colorado, so my small window to go there, might be too small.

Good of you to brave the crowds and restrictions, Dan! I happened to be there one year when it was dry & people were still taking pictures of it (or the lack thereof)!

I'm old enough to have actually taken it when the crowd was maybe 75 people! From

Very nice, Dan. Like Ben, I too am old enough to have seen the fire fall. In fact, when they finally banned it, I wrote an editorial to the Los Angeles Times supporting the decision. I got a lot of hate mail for that one.
