Ferns Pt. 5

I know I said the last installment was the last but I lied. There is one fern that I mistakenly thought looked unhealthy at first but I came to find out that's really what it looks like - an Autumn Fern. Unlike the rest of them this is a brown colored fern instead of green. Turns out we have several of these in the yard and this is what they look like when they are healthy.

This next one is a new addition I just bought from a local nursery to fill in a space just outside of my office - a Wood Fern:

C&C always welcome.

I am glad you did another installment of your ferns Alan. Maybe do a Macro installment?

And that's why the fern in that one photo looked a bit like it was dying, it wasn't it just has it's seasons mixed up.... :)

Thanks Jim - it turns out there are two variants of ferns that are not green - the autumn fern shown above and another one named Cinnamon Fern. I came across the potted plant tags for both in my wife's stash but have no idea where the cinnamon fern is in our yard or if it even survived since being planted about 15 years ago. The autumn fern doesn't really change with the seasons but does show some variance depending on where it is in the yard (sunlight, water, and soil). There is one autumn fern that is flat out brown compared to this one with some bit of greenish cast in some of the fronds.
