Fantasy Canyon in NE Utah isn't a canyon nor is it a fantasy. Still, I had wanted to visit there ever since I first saw a photo of it. It's jagged, fragile rocks have the weirdest, wildest, most random shapes of any you'll see. Plus, it's in the middle of nowhere - so great for astro photos, or so I assumed. I was excited for night to arrive as I waited in the parking area for darkness. I had found my first composition before dark and was ready for the stars to appear, but was then greeted by a pulsing light from nearby natural gas rigs which were all over the area. One in particular was about 200 yards away, but very powerful and a very ugly greenish yellow color. I spent the next couple of hours cursing the natural gas industry as I tried to offset their lights with some LED lamps I brought along for light painting. I did the best I could, but still had to use hue adjustments to come up with something more pleasing for the final image here.
