Fall in the Gorge - Young Creek +Panorama version

Another installment from last weeks visit to the Columbia River Gorge. This is Young Creek which many have seen as the waterfalls at Shepherds Dell along the Historic Highway. Out in the meadows below the Gorge walls Young Creek first forms a small lake and then the outflow (seen here) meanders its way towards Latourell Creek and Mirror Lake. Single frame shot at 166mm.

Jim wanted to see more of the creek so I stitched a few shots together for this panorama version of the scene. Three images using the 166mm lens.

Thanks Doug - this is one of the prettiest places for fall colors I have encountered in the Gorge.

Thanks Darcy - there is more still to come from the creeks and the meadows in this area of the park including some panoramas with both this creek and Latourell Creek.

Love that fall color, it is really glowing with that sun angle. I like the creek meandering through, though I do wish there was just a little more space in the lower right with the creek against the edge of the frame.

Thanks Jim - I actually have frames that flank this one I am still working on to make a 3 frame pano that does include the lower right. The frame for the lower right doesn't extend as far up on the right so I decided to feature the upper reaches of the creek for this one. I still have several more panoramas from Friday morning to work up too. I might go back again tomorrow weather permitting.

Check at the top for a new panorama version that shows a lot more of the creek. I had to use Generative Fill in the upper right since the frame on the right is a bit lower adding more of the creek.

Thanks Michael - same here. That's why I posted the single image to begin with since the tighter framing seemed like a stronger composition.
