Got back from southern Utah last Thursday. Made a spur of the moment dash to Bishop Creek Sunday and have a 4 day trip planed to Lee Vining starting this Sunday.

The first photo here is from Sydney Valley and the second is from Navajo Lake. I caught some real good colors on this trip as well as the Bishop Creek run.

I am in Wisconsin, and I would say this current map accurately represents what I am seeing.

Door County in Wisconsin

This is by the Fish Creek harbor where I stopped for lunch. The colors are varying wildly in Door County. There is sections of green leaves still, but just a mile down the road the colors will be at peak. I guess overall the color gets a 50% grade. So I would guess at least a week of good color here.

A snapshot by the harbor.

Minnesota

The upper half of Minnesota is past Peak now. I would estimate that 80% of the trees are now bare. So head south of the Twin Cities for reliable color, though there are some bare even below there.

Some nice fall color in the woods. These big leaf maples are past their prime but everything else is starting to show good colors. This is from a hike at noon today.

Southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC is at peak (upper elevations past paek). Big improvement over drab colors, further north on the parkway we saw last week. These are from the last 2 days.

I finally got home from a trip that started in the Eastern Sierra and extended into the southern portions of Idaho. I'd never been to Idaho before but after this trip I definitely intend to go back. Ultimately I only had two half day in Stanley and two half day in Hailey. But the area just north of Ketchum to south of Hailey was just covered with colorful trees everywhere. And I do mean everywhere. Unfortunately I didn't really have time to explore this area but did manage to keep turning down beautiful roads with more beautiful, colorful tress than you can imagine.

This photo is of a bridge at the Lake Creek Trailhead just north of Ketchum.
